Unibet Poker Review

Unibet made a deliberate product decision in 2018: ban HUDs, randomize screen names, and build a poker product that protects recreational players from data-driven grinders. The result is one of the softest player pools in European online poker. Average VPIP at Unibet tables runs significantly higher than on networks where HUDs are standard, and the absence of tracking means regulars cannot identify and avoid weak players.

The cost is real for serious players. Without hand histories or tracking data, you lose the ability to review sessions, identify leaks in your own game, or build reads on opponents across sessions. Every table is essentially a fresh start with zero information. For players who rely on database analysis as part of their improvement process, Unibet removes a critical tool. The effective rakeback (10-18% through the loyalty program) is also below what most competitors offer.

Rakeback

Unibet Poker's loyalty programme returns approximately 10% of rake paid (7-tier loyalty, 10-18% effective). For a player generating $500 in monthly rake, that is roughly $50 back per month, and the figure scales directly with volume.

Bonus & Banking

Welcome offer: EUR 20 Free on Sign-Up + 50% up to EUR 200 First Deposit Bonus

Unibet's welcome package has two parts: EUR 20 in free value on sign-up (one EUR 8 cash game ticket plus three EUR 4 tournament tickets) and a 50% deposit match up to EUR 200. The match bonus releases in five tiers as you generate rake, with the final tier requiring EUR 550 in rake to unlock the last EUR 140. The 60-day clearing window is standard.

Bonus release is tied to play volume through Unibet Points. The release rate is structured to favor regular play over a period of weeks rather than a single high-volume session. The bonus terms are among the more player-friendly in the industry.

Visa Mastercard Skrill Neteller Bank transfer Trustly PayPal

E-wallets typically offer the fastest withdrawal speeds. Open a Skrill account or sign up for Neteller to move funds in and out without sharing bank details with the poker room.

Withdrawal Speed

Method Processing Time
bank 3-5 business days
crypto N/A
ewallets 12-24 hours

Deposits are instant across all methods. Trustly is popular in Nordic markets and offers bank-to-bank transfers without sharing card details. eWallet withdrawals (Skrill, Neteller) clear within 12-24 hours. Bank transfers take 3-5 business days. PayPal is available in select regulated markets. Crypto is not supported.

Loyalty Programme

Unibet's loyalty program uses a 7-tier system based on Unibet Points earned through rake. Points convert to cash or tournament tickets at rates that improve with each tier. The effective return ranges from 10% at the lowest tier to approximately 18% at the highest achievable levels.

The ceiling is lower than most competitors. GGPoker's Fish Buffet can return 50%+ at the highest tiers, and iPoker middleman deals offer 30-40% RevShare. Unibet compensates with softer games, but high-volume players will feel the rakeback gap over time.

Software

Unibet's proprietary client is clean, modern, and clearly designed for recreational players. The interface uses achievement badges, avatars, and gamification elements that feel out of place for serious grinders but serve Unibet's mission of keeping casual players engaged. Table layout is uncluttered, and the betting interface works well.

The mobile app integrates poker into the main Unibet app alongside sports and casino. It is adequate for single-tabling cash games and tournaments. Multi-tabling on mobile is limited. The desktop client supports up to 4 tables comfortably, though without HUD overlays the multi-tabling experience is purely read-based.

HUD & Tracking

HUD PolicyBanned
Anonymous TablesYes
Hand History ExportProprietary format
NotesUnibet banned HUDs in 2018 and uses randomized aliases that change periodically. No standard hand history export is available. Third-party tracking tools do not work.

Traffic & Player Pool

Unibet operates a closed poker network: no shared liquidity with other rooms. Traffic comes entirely from Kindred Group's other products (Unibet sports, casino, and bingo). The player pool is smaller than iPoker or 888 in absolute terms, but the quality of opponents is significantly weaker. The HUD ban and anonymous aliases mean regulars cannot data-mine or selectively avoid strong players.

Peak hours follow European patterns (18:00-00:00 CET), with the strongest traffic from Nordic countries, the UK, and Benelux. Cash games run reliably from NL4 through NL100. Above NL100, tables thin out and wait times increase. PLO runs at select stakes during peak hours. Banzai (Unibet's fast-fold format) fills consistently at lower stakes.

Tournaments

Unibet runs the Unibet Online Series (UOS) quarterly, with buy-ins ranging from micro stakes through $200+. The series draws a recreational-heavy field with softer competition than equivalent buy-in events on GGPoker or PokerStars. Daily and weekly guaranteed tournaments round out the schedule.

Field sizes are smaller than major networks, and the schedule is thinner. This is a closed network, so there is no shared tournament liquidity. For players who prioritize field quality over field size, the trade-off can work in their favor, but high-volume MTT grinders will find the schedule limiting.

Tournament Buy-in Guarantee Format Schedule
Unibet Online Series Main Event Varies Varies (quarterly) NLH Quarterly series
Sunday Major $55-$109 Varies NLH Weekly (Sunday)
Daily GTDs $1-$22 Varies NLH/PLO Daily

The Downsides

No HUDs, no hand history export, no persistent screen names. For players who use database analysis as part of their study process, Unibet removes a fundamental tool. You cannot review hands after a session in PT4 or HM3. You cannot track your own results accurately without manual record-keeping. It is a structural limitation that affects how you improve as a player.

The closed network means smaller player pools than iPoker, 888, or GGPoker. Above NL100, finding action becomes difficult outside peak hours. The loyalty program caps out at roughly 18%, which is less than half what competing rooms offer at equivalent volume. Unibet's value proposition depends entirely on the game quality being soft enough to offset these disadvantages.

FAQ

Can I use a HUD on Unibet Poker?
No. Unibet banned all HUDs and tracking software in 2018. Screen names are randomized and change periodically, making player tracking impossible even with manual methods.
Can I export hand histories from Unibet?
No. Unibet uses a proprietary format and does not offer standard hand history export. You cannot import Unibet hands into PokerTracker, Hold'em Manager, or any other tracking tool.
How soft are Unibet Poker games?
Unibet has one of the softest player pools in European online poker. The HUD ban, anonymous aliases, and sports/casino crossover traffic combine to create tables with significantly higher average VPIP than networks where tracking is allowed.
Is Unibet Poker on a shared network?
No. Unibet operates its own closed poker network. You only play against other Unibet players, not players from other rooms. This means smaller traffic but a more controlled player pool composition.
What is the effective rakeback at Unibet?
The loyalty program returns 10-18% depending on your tier. This is below industry average; most competitors offer 25-50% through traditional rakeback or middleman deals.
Is Unibet Poker available in the US?
No. Unibet Poker is available in the UK and most EU countries, with the strongest presence in Nordic countries and Benelux.
