Canada hosts some of the largest poker events outside of Las Vegas. Between the WPT stops, WSOP Circuit events, and independent festival series, Canadian players have multiple six- and seven-figure guaranteed events within driving distance throughout the year.

Montreal

Montreal is Canada's busiest poker city. The Playground Poker Club in Kahnawake operates year-round and hosts multiple major festival series.

Playground Poker Spring Classic: Typically runs in April/May with 30+ events over two weeks. The Main Event usually carries a C$1 million+ guarantee. Side events range from C$200 to C$5,000 buy-ins, with PLO, mixed games, and bounty formats alongside No-Limit Hold'em.

WPT Montreal: The WPT has made Montreal a regular stop. The C$3,500 Main Event has historically drawn 1,000+ entries and awarded seven-figure first-place prizes. The festival runs 10-14 days with a full side-event schedule.

The Vancouver poker scene is smaller than Montreal or Toronto by tournament volume, but River Rock runs a consistent daily tournament schedule year-round.

Alberta gaming regulations are relatively favorable for poker. Both Grey Eagle and River Cree maintain regular daily tournament schedules outside of festival periods.

Casino de Charlevoix (Quebec): Hosts the Quebec Poker Championship series, typically a smaller regional event with C$500-$1,000 buy-ins.
