Every knockout is assumed to collect the bounty entered above. Bounties grow through a tournament as spins add to them, so the spread over a real schedule is wider than the table shows. Percentiles are exact, from the full distribution of the sum of spins rather than a simulation. The MTT bankroll simulator turns a spread like this into a buy-in count for a schedule.

How Ocean KO works

Ocean KO entered the GGPoker tournament lobby on October 2, 2026. Its first three Sunday events ran on October 4 at $10, $100 and $1,000 buy-ins with $1 million in combined guarantees. Half of every buy-in goes to the bounty pool, the same split GGPoker uses in its standard progressive knockouts.

Everything else that differs happens at the moment of a knockout. Each eliminated player's bounty is spun through a multiplier between 0.4x and 400x. Half of the result is paid to the collector as cash and half is added to the collector's own bounty. A $5 bounty that spins 10x pays $25 in cash and lifts the collector's bounty by $25, while the same bounty at 0.4x pays $1 and adds $1.

The champion gets two spins. One is for the runner-up's bounty and splits in half like any other. A Final Bounty Spin then runs on the champion's own accumulated bounty and is paid in full as cash.

Every bounty carries one of fourteen tier labels, from Egg at the starting bounty to Legendary Shark at $1 million. Tiers 1 to 10 share a single pay table, so the label changes nothing about the odds until a bounty passes 50 times the buy-in. The four legendary tiers narrow the range, and the tables below give both sets of thresholds.

Winamax has run the same mechanic as Space KO in France and Spain since December 2024, and Betclic followed with Smash KO in France in March 2026. Ocean KO is the first jackpot PKO available outside those two markets. The bounty math for the format sits on top of the standard PKO model in the PKO variance calculator, with one random variable added at the point of payment.

The pay table

Multiplier Probability One in Cash on a $5 bounty Share of all bounty value
400x 0.002% 50,000 $1,000.00 0.8%

0.5x 26.228% 4 $1.25 13.1%
0.4x 24.090% 4 $1.00 9.6%

GGPoker's pay table for tiers 1 to 10, as reported by pokerfuse on October 2, 2026. An equal amount is added to the collector's own bounty. Probabilities sum to 100.000% and the mean multiplier is 1.0000x.

Three rows under 1x account for 72.3% of all knockouts. The value they give up is carried by the 10x row, which lands once in 42 knockouts and holds 24% of the bounty pool, and by the two jackpot rows. A 100x arrives once in 1,250 knockouts and a 400x once in 50,000. The standard deviation of a single spin is 3.63 times the bounty, against zero in a standard PKO where every knockout pays face value.

Space KO figures as reported by pokerfuse, October 2026. Mystery bounty spread depends on the published envelope distribution for each event, which the PKO variance calculator models from real WSOP and online sheets.

Because the multipliers average 1.00x, every calling threshold derived from standard PKO bounty math carries over unchanged. A bounty is worth its face value whether it will be spun or paid flat, and the chip EV of a call that might collect it is the same in both formats. The ICM pressure on those calls is unchanged too, since the prize pool half of the buy-in pays out exactly as before.

What changes is the bounty on your own head after a spin. A $5 bounty that collects a 10x spin becomes a $30 bounty, which is Turtle tier on a $10 buy-in, and the expected cash for eliminating you rises six-fold in one hand. A mystery bounty removes each prize from the pool when it is claimed, while Ocean KO keeps the spun value in play as the collector's bounty, so large spins concentrate the bounty pool onto a few stacks rather than draining it. The tournament variance calculator gives the freezeout baseline the bounty spread sits on top of.

Ocean KO questions

What is Ocean KO on GGPoker?
Ocean KO is GGPoker's jackpot PKO format, launched October 2, 2026. It is a progressive knockout in which every bounty collected is multiplied by a random factor between 0.4x and 400x before it pays. Half of the result is paid as cash and half is added to the collector's own bounty.
What are the odds of a 400x multiplier in Ocean KO?
GGPoker's published pay table gives the 400x multiplier a probability of 0.002%, which is one knockout in 50,000. A 100x lands once in 1,250 knockouts and a 10x once in 42. Combined, one knockout in 40 pays 10x or more.
Is Ocean KO better value than a standard PKO?
The expected value is identical. The published multipliers average exactly 1.00x, so one knockout is worth the bounty's face value in both formats. What changes is the spread: 72.3% of Ocean KO knockouts pay less than face value and the standard deviation of one knockout is 3.63 times the bounty.
What are the Ocean KO tiers?
Bounties carry one of fourteen tier labels, from Egg to Legendary Shark, based on their size. Tiers 1 to 10 (Egg through Shark) share the same 0.4x to 400x pay table, so the label changes nothing about the odds. The four legendary tiers start at a $10,000 bounty and narrow the range, down to 0.8x to 1.5x at Legendary Shark.
Where can I play jackpot PKO tournaments?
GGPoker runs Ocean KO in its tournament lobby for every market it serves, from $10 buy-ins. Winamax has run the same mechanic as Space KO in France and Spain since December 2024, and Betclic as Smash KO in France since March 2026. PokerStars has no jackpot PKO format as of October 2026.
