Upload GGPoker Hands to PokerTracker 4

Step 1: Enable Hand History Downloads in GGPoker

GGPoker does not save hand histories to your computer by default. You must turn this on:

1. Open the GGPoker client
2. Click your avatar (top-left corner) to open Settings
3. Navigate to Game Settings or Hand History (the exact label varies by client version)
4. Toggle "Save Hand History" to ON
5. Note the file save location; you will need this path later

GGPoker saves hand histories in its own format. PT4 can read these files, but only from the version that supports GGPoker imports (PT4 version 4.16+).

Important: Hand histories are only saved for hands played after you enable this setting. It does not retroactively save old hands. Turn this on before your next session.

Step 2: Find Your Hand History Files

Windows

The default hand history location on Windows is:

C:\GGPokerData\HandHistory\[YourScreenName]\

If you changed the save location in Step 1, check whatever folder you specified. The files are organized by date and have a .txt extension.

Mac

On Mac, the default location is:

~/Library/Containers/com.ggpoker.client/Data/Documents/HandHistory/[YourScreenName]/

The Library folder is hidden by default on macOS. To access it: open Finder, hold Option, click Go in the menu bar, and select Library.

If You Cannot Find the Files

• Open GGPoker settings and check the hand history save path directly
• Make sure you have played at least one hand since enabling the setting
• On Windows, search for *.txt files in the GGPokerData folder
• Files are small (a few KB each) and named with timestamps

Step 3: Import into PokerTracker 4

1. Open PokerTracker 4
2. Make sure you are on version 4.16 or later (Help > About to check)
3. Go to Import > Import Files/Folders
4. Browse to the GGPoker hand history folder from Step 2
5. Select the folder (not individual files) so PT4 imports everything
6. Click Import

PT4 will process the files and add them to your database. A progress bar shows the import status.

Setting Up Auto-Import

For ongoing tracking, set up auto-import so PT4 grabs new hands automatically:

1. Go to Import > Auto Import Folders
2. Click Add Folder
3. Browse to your GGPoker hand history folder
4. Set the scan interval (every 30-60 seconds works well)
5. Check "Include subfolders" since GGPoker organizes files by date

With auto-import running, PT4 will pick up new hand histories within a minute of each hand completing, effectively giving you real-time HUD stats during play.

Step 4: Verify the Import

After importing, check that the data looks correct:

• Go to View > Stats and filter by the GGPoker site
• Confirm hand counts match roughly what you expect
• Open a few individual hands to verify player names, stakes, and actions imported correctly
• Check that the currency (USD) is correct

Common Errors and Fixes

"No hands imported" after running import:

• Confirm the hand history files exist in the folder (open one in Notepad to verify it contains hand data)
• Make sure PT4 is version 4.16+; older versions do not recognize GGPoker's hand history format
• Check that you selected the correct folder path

HUD not displaying during play:

• PT4's HUD requires the auto-import to be active and running during your session
• GGPoker's preferred seat feature can cause HUD seat mapping issues. If names are appearing on the wrong seats, go to PT4's HUD settings and adjust the seat configuration for GGPoker
• Some GGPoker game types (Rush & Cash, Spin & Gold) may have limited HUD compatibility due to fast table changes

Duplicate hands or inflated hand counts:

• If you imported the same folder twice, PT4 may show duplicates. Go to Tools > Database Maintenance > Remove Duplicate Hands
• This does not affect your actual stats; PT4 handles deduplication cleanly

Stakes showing incorrectly:

• GGPoker hand histories use USD by default. If your account uses a different currency, PT4 may need a currency conversion setting adjusted under Options > Site Settings

"GGPoker not listed as a supported site":

• Update PT4 to the latest version. GGPoker support was added in 4.16 and has been improved in subsequent updates.

A Note on GGPoker's PokerCraft

GGPoker has a built-in analytics tool called PokerCraft that provides basic stats without any external software. It tracks VPIP, PFR, win rates, and session results directly in the client.

PokerCraft is fine for casual review, but it lacks the depth of PT4: no positional breakdowns, no opponent profiling, no custom stat configurations, and no HUD. If you are serious about reviewing your play, PT4 (or similar third-party tools) is where the analysis happens.
