Poker Staking in 2026

Stables, CFP Groups, and Marketplaces

Disclosure

BBZ Poker is a commercial partner of PrimeDope; BBZ Academy leads the stables table on the strength of its coaching-plus-staking deal. Every term was read on each org's own pages. Links to non-partner orgs earn nothing.

Getting staked

A stable funds your buy-ins for a share of profit; 50/50 is the baseline wherever a split is published. Losses accrue as makeup, a balance you clear before the split pays you.

Coaching for profits

A CFP group trains you for a share of future winnings, played on your own bankroll. No stake changes hands; the group earns only when you do.

Selling action

You sell percentages of your own action to investors at markup, a premium over face value: 1.2 means $120 buys $100 of action. Mechanics on the selling action explainer.

BBZ Academy

Alone in this table, BBZ bundles a full training operation into the deal: the same coaches, charts, and seminar schedule it sells separately come with the stake.

Pick a wing by language and region; Italy negotiates terms at application. The case for the coaching model: MTT staking with coaching.

Pocarr

The most transparent terms page of any stable reviewed: the 50/50 split, the makeup rule, and the quit conditions are published verbatim before you apply. Operational discipline is strict: daily balance updates, audits, and mandatory 2FA on every site and wallet.

Polarize

One of the few stables that takes cash game players, and the only one in this table with a published probation structure: three months at 60/40 before the standard split. The Portuguese-language requirement decides eligibility before anything else does.

Standard Backing

The widest game coverage of any Western stable in the table: the 50/50 start deal, profit chops inside 24 hours, and a 2-5% volume cashout program are published before you apply. Minimum bar is 3,000 games in the last 12 months. Its scale claims (a thousand players, $100M) are its own marketing.

FirstFund

Selection runs on your last 100,000 hands and a manager interview rather than an application essay. The published contract is specific in a way most Western stables avoid: 5,000 tournaments at 50/50 for anyone under ABI 50.

Funfarm

The school-to-stable pipeline: start at zero ABI in the free school and graduate into backing. Free training trades against an unpublished split, so the deal only becomes concrete at offer time.

20EvBB

Publishes the fullest numeric ladder in the table: split by ABI tier, distance bonuses of 2-5%, and a top band where proven players keep up to 80%. The team claims 98 active players and a $2.2M 2025; those are its own numbers.

MVP Team

MVP publishes priced training tiers from $2,065 to $13,450: part stable, part paid school, a structure no Western stable in this table uses. Parts of the English site show 2022 results.

Moon Staking

Live and open, with a real coaching bench and live-series packages, but not one financial term appears on the site. The whole deal is disclosed at application.

Team Hero

One of the only doors open to genuine beginners, at stakes low enough that the education is the point. Like Moon, it publishes no terms.

Reading the terms columns

Transparency splits on geography: the Russian-market funds (20EvBB, FirstFund, MVP) publish full numeric ladders, while most Western stables outside Standard Backing and Pocarr disclose the split only after an application. A "Not published" cell means getting every number in writing before signing, starting with makeup.

Facts verified 2026-09-11. JPoker School publishes the fullest CFP terms found anywhere but is closed to applications.

bitB

The longest-running name in the category: its old staking domain is dead, and the live operation sells coaching against a profit share across three game families. Applications answer inside 48 hours.

Smart Spin

The dominant spins operation, with more proprietary tooling than most stables. The makeup clause inside a CFP deal is unusual in the category.

Poker With Riske

The only verified operation working exclusively above 1kNL.

BluffTheSpot CFP

The deposit requirement and network lock-in shift risk toward the player in ways no other verified CFP deal does; the only claim about the split is that it is lower than competitors'.

Staking Deal Calculator

The results are expected values; the swings around them are what the variance calculator and its tournament version model.

Action Marketplaces

Platform Fees Markup Escrow and payout Access
StakeKings No investor fee on standard packages; seller commission undisclosed. Premium packages add a 5% investor transaction fee. Seller-set. Live range 1.06 to 1.36 on the day we checked; no platform cap. Premium packages advertise a 1.15 cap that listed packages exceeded the same day. All money moves through the StakeKings wallet; settling off-site is banned. Payouts land within 2 hours of most event finishes, with 24-hour online and 72-hour live outer bounds. Worldwide including the US, 18+. KYC with W-9; a 1099 is issued at $600+ annual profit. German users see a 3% profit tax deducted per package. Site →
PokerStake No seller or investor fee published; the platform is run by PocketFives and monetizes through the GG ecosystem it feeds. Seller-set; live listings ran 1.12 to 1.25 on buy-ins from $5.3k to $10.2k. No cap published. Wallet model with a threshold rule: if the minimum percentage does not sell, every stake refunds. Winnings credit up to 10 working days after the official result is verified. US-facing enough to require W-9s and issue 1099s at $600+ profit; a prohibited-jurisdictions clause exists but the list is not published. Deposits by PayPal, card processors, Bitcoin, or USDT. Site →
GGPoker in-client None; GGPoker charges nothing on staked buy-ins. Seller-set with page examples up to 2x; sell up to 100% of your action. Share granularity scales with buy-in, down to 0.1% pieces above $5,000. Automatic inside the client: backers are credited their share of the prize the moment it pays. An Auto Unregister rule cancels the staking and the registration if the offer does not fill. Inherits GGPoker's license footprint; not available to US players outside regulated GG markets. Our review →
ACR / WPN in-client None; WPN charges no additional fee on staked buy-ins. Seller-set, 1% to 90% of action (you keep at least 10%). Any markup above 1.0 requires identity verification and publishes the seller's real name to buyers, the strongest anti-scam markup rule of any platform reviewed. In-client and automatic, with a published ICM payout rule for cancelled events. Offers close 5 minutes before the tournament starts. WPN accepts US players. Multi-accounting across WPN skins while staked is penalized. Our review →

Facts verified 2026-09-10. PokerShares was a bookmaker taking bets on players; it closed in January 2022.

StakeKings

The one standalone marketplace open to US sellers and backers. It has paid out $23.8M in winnings across 300,000+ backers, and it also carries daily fantasy action beside the poker packages.

PokerStake

The former PocketFives site rebuilt as a storefront for GGPoker events: registering creates a GGPass account, and the packages on the board are GG-network series. Inventory is deep during a series and thin between them.

GGPoker in-client

Selling action from the tournament lobby itself, with settlement handled by the same software that pays the prize. The trade-off against a standalone marketplace is reach: your buyers must hold GGPoker accounts too.

ACR / WPN in-client

The US-accessible in-client option. The real-name rule prices honesty into markup: anonymous sellers can only sell at face value.

FAQ

What does a standard staking deal pay?
50/50 after makeup is the baseline everywhere that publishes a number. Movement happens on top of it: Polarize starts new players at 60/40 in the backer's favor for three months, MVP escalates 50-55-60% across contracts, and 20EvBB's ladder reaches 60-80% for proven high-ABI players. The split only begins once cumulative losses are recovered, which is why the makeup policy matters more than the headline number.
What is the difference between makeup and markup?
Makeup is the running total of losses in a backed deal; the player clears it before profit is split. Markup is the premium an action seller charges investors on a marketplace, so 1.2 markup means $120 buys $100 of action. Makeup belongs to stable deals, markup to sold action; no verified org mixes the two.
Can US players sell tournament action?
Yes, on two of the four verified venues. StakeKings operates worldwide including the US and issues 1099s at $600 in annual profit. ACR's in-client staking runs on WPN, which accepts US players. GGPoker's in-client platform follows its license footprint, which excludes most US states, and PokerStake requires a GGPass account with the same practical effect.
What happened to PokerShares?
PokerShares was a bookmaker taking bets on poker players, never a marketplace where players sell their own action. It stopped offering markets in January 2022 and paid out balances by that March. Sites still listing it as a staking option are out of date.
What does it take to get accepted by a stable?
Verifiable history and volume, before results. BBZ Academy asks for a SharkScope opt-in with 24 months of public history, a winning record, and 500-600 tournaments a month full-time. Pocarr's application walks through your games, volume, tracking software, and references, and its players post daily balance updates once accepted. If your results are not publicly auditable, fix that before applying anywhere.
