Betsson Poker is part of the iPoker Network and one of the largest European Online Betting Providers with over 50 years of expertise in the field. While the player numbers, especially at the lower stakes are decent, the competition on the tables can be rather tough.
For active players (€300 rake per month or more) Betsson offers 30% flat cashback which is a decent number these days. On top Betsson has a valuable €2k welcome bonus which is worth another 20% cashback while clearing it.
While Betsson (and the iPoker Network in general) attract a bit too many grinders, there’s still value to be had and especially the 6+ Hold’em tables are worthwhile.

Betsson Bonus und Bonus Codes
The Betsson bonus is very simple – no fancy tickets, no special rules, and no BS. Players receive up to €2,000 and have 60 days to clear the bonus. The bonus is released in steps of €5 per €25 rake paid at a rate of 20% effective cash back.
This is one of the best bonuses currently available for grinders and active players.
Betsson Rake and Tournament Fees
Betsson is working with the standard iPoker rake model, which is good, but not great. Micro cash games are taxed at 6.67% – quite high, but with a cap of only 50 cents. The higher limits have a lower rake percentage (5%), but significantly higher caps. All stakes past NL50 are capped €4 which is more or less the industry standard these days. It is noteworthy that games and caps are in Euro and thus slightly more expensive than games that are played in Dollars (since 1 Euro is worth more than 1 Dollar).
The tournament fees are roughly 10% across all stakes.

Software and Games
The user interface (UI) of Betsson Poker has been successful following the transition from Microgaming to the iPoker Network. The advantage of joining the world’s largest online poker network is the consistent player traffic for cash games and tournaments. The iPoker software is known for its smooth graphics and user-friendly interface. It is easy to navigate, and it rarely experiences any issues, even when using the multi-table mini-view or the multiplay option. Players can play at up to 15 different tables simultaneously.
Betsson Poker provides easy access to daily missions and current promotions, and it also offers customization options for tables. The poker room runs smoothly in web browsers through HTML5, and Mac users can use a Windows emulator with minimal issues.
Betsson Poker holds several tournaments each day, including satellites for bigger weekend tournaments. They also offer Twister Spin & Go tournaments where players can win random prizes based on a multiplier. Some Twister games have buy-ins between €1 – €10 and can reach impressive prize pools.
Unlike most online poker providers, Betsson Poker allows the use of tracking software such as HEM. This feature caters to professional poker players, making the games more challenging for beginners. However, the low buy-in games still offer opportunities for novice players to find soft games.
History of Betsson
The company behind Betsson has its roots in Sweden and the predecessor to the company was founded in 1963 by Bill Lindwall and Rolf Lundström. The company was initially called AB Restaurang Rouletter and was focused on providing gaming machines for restaurants in Sweden. In the 1970s, the company began to expand into other markets and changed its name to Cherry. Cherry became one of the first companies to offer casino games online when it launched its first online casino in 2000.
In 2003, Cherry acquired Betsson, a Malta-based then rather small online gaming company, and changed its name to Cherryföretagen AB. The following year, Cherryföretagen AB rebranded itself as Betsson AB to reflect its new focus on online gambling. Since then, Betsson has grown rapidly, acquiring other gaming companies and expanding into new markets.
Today, Betsson is one of the largest online gambling companies in the world, with operations in over 20 countries. The company offers a wide range of online gambling products, including sports betting, casino games, poker, bingo, and scratch cards. Betsson has won numerous awards for its products and services. The company is listed on the Stockholm Stock Exchange and has a market capitalization of around 20 billion SEK as of 2021.
